Tavistock is a small market town in the South West of the UK. In its history, Tavistock was centre of the tin mining industry. Barges filled with tin ore travelled the Tavistock canal to the port at Morewellham Quay.
Until the 1960s, Tavistock had two railway stations and was on the main line between Plymouth and London.
Doctor Beeching closed many such railways in the 1960's. May he rot in Hell.
Nowerdays Tavistock has no industry except toursim. It is an ideal place from which to explore Dartmoor.
