Dartmoor is a National Park located in the South West of the UK. It is a wild moorland region that was formed by volcanic action. The rocky outcrops are the weathered cones of long extinct volcanos.
These are knows as "Tors".
The wild open spaces of Dartmoor contrast sharply with the lush green lower slopes where wooded valleys and rivers tumbling over granite rocks attract the tourists.
