I have been using the Linux Operating system for many years and have slowly watched it grow into the capable system that it is today.
I am pleased to say that I have totally dumped all Microsoft products. Here's one person who is NOT contributing to the Bill Gates' retirement fund.
After years of using various version of Mandrake/Mandriva, I now run Debian.
Some great software for Linux includes Mozilla Thunderbird and Firefox. a fantasic web browser and email/news client and OpenOffice.org the full, open source Office package for both Linux and Windows.
Try them both, they are free and just get better all the time.
