gb7nht

Welcome to the gb7nht website.
History:
Due to node closures, the cluster serving this part of Devon (GB7PDX) was forced to close on 31st Dec 2003. As the operator of the GB7NHT nodes, I offered to run the cluster to serve this area.
DX Spider was the obvious choice of software, running, of course under Linux.
Red Hat 7.2 was chosen for its stability. No windowing environment was installed as this is not needed. The server then joined the others in the "server room".
A lot of credit has to go to my son, David. He very quickly installed the system, updates and all the Perl modules needed to run Spider.
On 6th Jan 2004, the cluster became active. DX updates are obtained from GB7MBC via the Internet.

Thanks to GB7MBC for the DX spots.

The access problems at QRZ.COM which have been preventing sh/qrz <call> working are reported to be solved. I had to re-activate the password for some reason before I could login like many others.

GB7NHT has very few users now - should it continue ?
